Canadian company Hempearth have, they say, designed the world’s first plane, both, made from, and powered by cannabis.
Founded in 2012, Hempearth also sells cannabis oils and a variety of other products and are currently working on an ICO. Florida company, Velocity, Inc. actually manufactured the plane for Hempworth
Hempearth CEO Derek Kesek is interested in hemp as a sustainable material. “This is the kind of future we all want here on Earth,” Kesek says about his plane.
Not only does the aircraft run on 100 percent hemp oil, but it was made entirely from cannabis. Everything from the seats, the wings, the plane walls and even the pillows contains hemp.
It can hold one pilot, phew ! As well as four passengers and has a wingspan of 36 feet.
Most manufacturers use aluminum to built planes. Hemp is significantly lighter and requires a lot less fuel to take off and fly.
